Bark Yard Soft Launch Party At Stackt Market

On June 29 we were invited to the new Bark Yard at Stackt Market in Toronto for their soft launch party.
We’ll be doing some in-depth reviews on everything Stackt soon but for now -know that Stackt is a dog friendly location in Toronto. It’s a market of shipping containers – Canada’s largest, offering shopping, a brewery, wine, food, events, plus more, in a great little oasis in the heart of downtown.
Bark Yard fits right into their dog friendly environment with a 4800 square foot off leash dog area. The rules are pretty standard (and straightforward) and you can see them on one of the photos here.
Open during Stackt’s hours of operation, your dog can enjoy social time with other dogs of all ages and sizes. The fencing is secure as are the gates so your houdini won’t get out. The yard is covered with artificial turf with mulch edges. There were a few dogs that we saw snacking on the decorative wood covering the mulch.
Along one side of the fence are a few white wooden Muskoka style chairs that were very comfortable.
We can think of a couple more spots inside the yard it would be nice to have more seating- especially with upcoming events. On the opposite side, between the fence and main building is a concrete walkway.
Dogs clearly enjoyed the new yard. Klaus was quite invested in wandering the fence and sniffing. Although there were quite a few dogs and pawrents it really didn’t feel crowded. If you find it’s too busy for you, head out to wander and find outdoor seating anywhere in the market area- it’s all dog dog friendly- more on that later.
You can even grab an alcoholic drink inside the yard at The Cocktail Box, including a Sake slushie for July- some drinks will rotate monthly and we can’t wait to see what others they come up with.
Starting July 13, Brews and Chews will return biweekly from 4-9 pm. We hope to see you at one – maybe even arrange a meet up with some of you.
